Warwickshire came out well and truly with flying colour’s in their latest BICC Fixture away in Glamorgan. A 23-13 overall scoreline depicted a superb weekend for the County. Ladies B were once again solid in taking a great 5-1 victory with Louise Graham 18.31 taking the Ladies award, Mens B faced a tough task but held out for a draw with Matt Edgar taking the Match Award with a 28.18. 11-7 Overnight but the Ladies A team took a great win by 4 games to 2 with Trina Gulliver taking the award with a 23.81 average. Mens A is always a tough task in Wales but a brilliant 8-4 win with Nigel Heydon smashing in a superb 32.85 average which turned out to be the highest Mens Average which brings him a cool £700. Warwickshire now find themselves firmly in 4th place in the Premier Division with two fixtures to go, next one away in High Flying Essex and a home one versus Kent.
Rob Hawker continued his rich vein of form with another victory to take him to the Lakeside International play offs later in the year. Rob defeated Ian McFarlane in the final. Ian had defeated Steve Giddings in his semi final which really never got off the ground with both players missing doubles at crucial times. Giddings had previously beat Tommy Ryan 3-2 in a match which produced 6 180s and both players achieving 100+ in the their three dart average. Rob had defeated Antony Allen in his semi final with a 3-1 victory but it could have been over for him in the first round with Mark Sidgwick missing 6 darts at doubles to win. Rob will take his place amongst the International elite on October 9th in Hull. We hope that he is joined by our qualifiers from the Winmau World Masters.
A very dissapointing turn out of only eighteen players took up the challenge to qualify for the oldest Championship in the World the Winmau World Masters. Some great games along the way but only two will qualify from this play off being Noel Grant of Coventry Bishopsgate who defeated team mate Steve Giddings and Rob Hawker of Castle Vale Riley’s who overcame the challenge of Mark Westgarth of the Bishopsgate. These will be joined by the top two eligible players from the Final listing of Mens Averages. All four will be now attempting to reach the world finals with the Regional Play Offs which take place on the 18th August 2013 at the Burton Latmier Club, Northants.
Noel Grant and Rob Hawker.

Warwickshire laid on the style in their latest fixture in the BICC. Entertaining Surrey the B sides kicked off proceedings with a 4-2 Ladies win with Marian Conway taking the match award with a 17.08. The Mens B hit the ground running and took the match with an 11-1 victory. Matt Edgar hitting his 2nd consecutive match award and 30+ ave..Last time the Mens B secured an 11-1 margin was in 1991 versus Cumbria warks v cumbria 1991. With an overnight 15-3 score it was hoped that the run would continue, it was a struggle with Surrey digging their heels in taking the first three Ladies matches but the next three went in our favour with Trina Gulliver securing the Highest Ladies ave in the BICC with a superb 29.47. Mens A also found the going tough and had to settle for a 6-6 draw, Tommy Aldridge taking the match award with a 30.91 which just pipped Kevin Dowling’s 30.83. So a 24-12 victory which sees us lying 4th in the Premier..Next stop for the County being Glamorgand on 23-24th March.
