The Bears came back from a dissapointing result to claim a cracking victory in their re-arranged fixture over Cheshire. This game was brought forward due to the World Cup clashing with the original date set for the fixtures. Ladies B got off to a solid start taking three of the first four with Lisa Whitmore taking the LOM award with a 19.03. Eventual result was a 3-3 draw after two losses. Mens B kicked off well and many games showed a great quality on the day, Matt Edgar hitting the highest average with a 32.58. This coming with a 8-4 victory to see us 11-7 up overnight. Another 3-3 draw for the Ladies A with Trina Gulliver taking the award 22.43. Natalie Gilbert with a cracking 137 finish to claim her match along with Sue Gulliver the other victors. Mens A stormed into a 4-0 lead only for Cheshire to calim some tough battles, Dean Stewart was the match award winner with a 30.36. An 8-4 victory saw the County take a 22+3 – 14 victory. Onwards and Upwards again when we are entertained by Lincolnshire at the end of November.
The County were at a big loss today as Lil Roberts passed away after a series of illness. Lil will be remembered in the early days as a player with the County only to later become an official for which she held various positions. Very sad news to us all as Lil was very much loved as was her husband Dennis. Rest In Peace LIL.

The Bears suffered their second loss of the season when they visited Cornwall. A case of missed doubles seemed to be the order of the weekend with Ladies and Men finding themselves in strong positions but to then fail in hitting that vital last dart. Kerry Bambridge completed a great 3-0 win and LOM with a 20.31 in the Ladies B 3 3 draw, other winners were Kat Spanswick and Melanie Hill. Carl Green took the MOM when on last of the 12 with a superb 28.56. Others victorious were Antony Allen, Tommy McGlone and Luke Kennedy. Trina and Sue Gulliver were the only winners in a 4-2 loss for the Ladies A whilst the Mens A managed to grab a 7-5 win which on paper looked like being a bigger margin. Jamie Hughes again taking the MOM with a 31.59. The County now has a tough task ahead and starting in two weeks time with a rearranged fixture versus Cheshire.
Jamie Hughes toom the full honours in this years annual Warwickshire Mens Superleague Open in front of 67 other entries. A total payout of £400 was achieved on the night which for a local Open is very impressive. Hughes of Bham Hillyfields took the Final with a win over Nuneaton and Bedworth’s Dean Sanders by a 4-0 scoreline. Both players had a tough task in the Semi Finals with Dean Stewart and Mark Strong respectively.
Winner = Jamie Hughes. Runner Up= Dean Sanders.
Semis = Dean Stewart Bham Hillyfields, Mark Strong Brandon.
Last 8 Mike McFall Bham Kingstanding, Graham Hall Stratford, Ted Evetts Stockton Nelson, Tom Martin Whitnash.
