Former County Player Passes away

Former Warwickshire star John Cosnett has passed away after a lengthy battle with Cancer. John was a player from the mid 1980s and was a soild asset to the Bears at the time, he will be remembered for his win in the British Open in 1985. Warwickshire wish to extend their deepest sympathies to all the family. RIP John.

Bears take vital win.

Warwickshire stormed to victory in their latest BICC match with Devon in Exeter. The weekend as always kicked off with a dissapointing 5-1 loss for the Ladies B with only Chloe McKivett taking a win. Mens B had some tough work to get the County back on track and they did with a super 8-4 win, some tough battles that were overcome with some new players taking to the stage. Pleasure to see so many settling in to the County and long may it continue, James Hyking taking the match award with a solid 27+. 9-9 overnight and Ladies A were up against it as their opponents are really experienced. But the Bears girls gave it their all with Sue Gulliver leading from the front with two superb finishes of 98 and a match winning 145 over England Newbie Maria O Brien. Set the tone as we managed a 4-2 victory with the two losers unlucky not to win. Mens A was a strange one with the going tough for many players. A 7-5 victory with Nigel Heydon once again taking the MOM with a brilliant 28+. All that is left now is a home match with Glamorgan which was cancelled due to the severe weather earlier in the year.
