The Rules of the League
- The league shall be known as the Coundon
Friday Night Darts League, and the rules shall run from AGM
to AGM.All registered players are deemed to be a member of this
league until the final league match fixture for their team.
- Any person (as long as they are not banned)
will be allowed to register for a team.Any players between the
age of 14-18 MUST be accompanied at all times by a responsible
adult and team captains MUST obtain the landlords permission
in advance before entering away match venues.
- Signing on sheets must be submitted to
the League Secretary on or before the deadline given each season.
A £5.00 fine will be made for late registration sheets.
- All players names, addresses must be on
the signing on sheet, players will be allowed to be signed on,
on the night but their name, address and signature must be submitted
with the result card up to the halfway point of the season.
No players can be signed on after the halfway point (unless
an exception has been granted by the committee).
- Players may transfer from one team to
another or from this league to another up to the halfway point
only. A Transfer Form MUST be obtained from the League Secretary
and a fee of £2.00 will be due. A player can only transfer
once per season.
- No non-registered players will be allowed
to play.
- No player is allowed to play for more
than one team on the same night. Exceptions may be granted by
the committee when leagues overlap at the beginning and end
of the seasons as long as the team fixtures are fulfilled. Ladies
Superleague players are permitted to sign on and participate
on nights when they have NO Superleague commitments.
- League fees are £30.00 per season
and must be paid by the deadline given each season. A £5.00
fined will be made for late fee's.
- Any team failing to fulfil their league
fixtures will be fined £5.00 per fixture.
- A monthly meeting will be held on the
last Sunday of every month at the Royal Warwicks Club at 11:00am
(AGM 10:30am). All teams must bepresent. No apologies will be
accepted by any team. Representatives from one team can not
represent another. The representative must be present for the
whole meeting to be marked as attended.
- Non attendance at the monthly meetings
will result in the following fines: first meeting £2.50,
second meeting £5.00 and a loss of one point, third meeting
£10.00 and a loss of two points, and so on.
- All teams are to participate in a monthly
tote of £2.00 The tote will be paid out on a 50% basis
and a £3.00 Reps Draw, any team not in attendance will
not be entered into the Reps Draw.
- A blackout card will be run at all meetings
and competitions for the league funds.
- The throw shall be seven feet, nine and
a quarter inches (7' 9 1/4").
- Premier and Division One will play six
singles of 501 best of three legs and three pairs of 701 one
leg. Second Division will play six singles of 401 best of three
legs and three pairs of 601 one leg. All matches are straight
start, double finish, the away team to throw first for the bull
in every leg. All names are to be drawn out and not placed (both
singles and pairs). When a team turns up short the number of
players to play should be matched off. A blank name to be put
into the pairs draw. The deadline for league matches is 8:30pm.
- Teams will be awarded three points for
a match win and one point for winning the pairs.
- All fixtures must be played as per the
fixture sheet, only two matches per season can be cancelled
and re-arranged. All cancelled matches MUST be played on a free
week or within 28 days of cancellation. Seven days notice to
cancel a match must be given. The League Recorder MUST be notified
by the cancelling team that the match is cancelled and the date
when it will be played. Free weeks are included within the season
for cancelled matches to be played, all games must be played
by last match of the season.
- Four players constitutes a team, and games
should not be cancelled unless you have less than four players
available.
- Teams failing to turn up for a match shall
be fined £10.00 + £10.00 to cover food (if away)
and a 9-0 result will be awarded to the other team.
- Match result cards are to received by
the Divisional Recorder within seven days from the date of the
match, failure will result in a £2.50 fine for the first
late card, £5.00 for the second late card, £7.50
for the third etc. etc.
- All registered players have the late pass
option (up to 9:30pm to arrive) however only two players can
be nominated per match. If the player nominated on the night
fails to arrive before 9:30pm then you will forfeit their game
and award it to the other team. YOU CANNOT PUT ANOTHER PLAYER
IN AFTER THE 9.30PM DEADLINE HAS PASSED.
- All competitions will be an 8:15pm rollcall
deadline for an 8:30pm start. Except Presidents Cup which is
an 8:30pm deadline. Any player arriving after the deadline will
NOT be allowed to play. LATE PASSES DO NOT COVER ANY COMPETITIONS.
Players may move up and play in a higher Divisions competition
but can not move down and play in a lower Divisions. Teams not
represented at any charity competitions are to make a donation
to the fund.
- No player is allowed to register another
player if they are not present in the room.
- Competition formats are as listed in the
box on the fixture sheet.
- President Cup result cards are to received
by the Competition Secretary within seven days from the date
of the match, failure will result in a late card fine of £2.50
being made.
- All players MUST participate in chalking/checking
after losing in competitions. If you can not chalk/check YOU
are to find a person to do it on your behalf. Any player refusing
to chalk/check will be fined £5.00 and banned from all
competitions for twelve months. Leaving the venue without chalking/checking
will be deemed a refusal.
- Any players/team found bringing the game
or league into disrepute (threatening behaviour, fighting etc)
at league matches or competitions will be brought before the
committee to a disciplinary hearing.
- It is the responsibility of the
team representatives to ensure that their players are aware
and understand the rules of the league.
The committee, along with the influence of the team representatives
at the monthly meetings, shall deal with anything not covered
by the above rules.
