Warwickshire recently held their AGM to look at last seasons reports from the various sections within County Darts. It was also a discussion to be held upon as to whether we had the mandate to continue as a going concern within the United Kingdom National League. This was in discussion due to an array of resignations/ retirements from the County.
The overall decision was to continue and battle on in the quest to do what is best in the Premier Division of the UKDA.
The Committee had a few changes along the way with Mark Tennant joining the selection of the men’s team after the retirement of Bernie Strong from the position. The County would like to take this opportunity to thank Bernie for his efforts as a Committee regular over the years, where he has held the position of Superleague Chairman and men’s selector. Never one to shirk from fund raising at County Home Fixtures. THANK YOU BERNIE.
We also lose some players as stated in the opening statement. We wish to thank these players, Kacie O Connor for the few years within the Ladies team, not lost many. Well Done and Thank You Kacie.
Jack Wareing has stated his intention to take a break from County darts for the short term but hopes to make a return in a few years time. We look forward to seeing you in the Bears Shirt very soon Jack.
Noel Grant has decided to hang up his County Shirt after many years this is a huge loss to the County as Noel has been a solid part of the recent County success of Men’s A Winning Titles. Thank You Noel.
Another Huge loss is Kevin Dowling who announced also his retirement from the County scene after achieving the brilliant amount of 200 appearances for Warwickshire. Thank You Kevin.
With our first fixture unfortunately having to be rearranged due to these announced retirements, Holidays and also the clashing of a Challenge tour we look to start in our home fixture in October versus Yorkshire.
