County back on track.

The County came away from the latest BICC Fixture with a 22-14 win over newly promoted Cornwall at the Bishopsgate Club Coventry. A strong Ladies line up for the visitors saw them take both Games by a 4-2 scoreline. Winners for the Bears were Wendy Adams and Edwina Holdsworth for the B side and Trina Gulliver – Sue Gulliver both took great wins in the A match. The Mens B had two debutants in Ted Evetts and Michael Spencer, both took to the stage very well and won with great averages. Ted on at number one hit home a 4-2 win which included a 6th leg 9 dart attempt, two 180s to start the leg but missing with his next shot for the 141. Still a 13 dart leg ensued and his first win in the County shirt with a superb 28.08. Michael took his game with a 4-3 win also taking the final leg with a 13 darter and a 27.10 ave. Matt Edgar who had been unwell in the week prior raised the bar with a MOM and a 29+ave, not too far behind was Prakash Jiwa with a 28+. A 10-2 victory gave us an overnight lead of 12-6. After the Ladies loss the Men got down to business with an 8-4 win, looking on paper it was expected that a heavier result would be ours but some games that did not go our way made up for a 22-14 overall result, Dean Stewart taking the match award with a 28.76. The County make a great leap in the table sitting fourth and now are ready for the next challenge away at Cheshire.
