The ten times World Champion added a new script to the record books today when lifting the Winmau World Masters at the Lakeside. Trina along with Eric Bristow were the only two people to have won the respective events on five occasions but now re-writes history. The semi final saw her defeat Swedens Vicky Pruim by a 4-1 scoreline whilst her Final Opponent Deta Hedman was overcoming Maria O Brien of Devon. Trina raced into a 3-0 lead despite both players struggling to make their mark, Deta took leg 4 but Trina retained the three leg advantage, another win for Deta in leg six but Trina sat on 72 hit a single 5, single 17 and a magic Bullseye to take the crown she last won in 2005.
The mens event saw Jamie Hughes achieve a semi final spot but was then seen off 5-0 by the reigning Winmau master Glen Durrant. Durrant who is sponsored and managed by our partners at the Sportsman Management Company faced former Warwickshire and Coventry player Mark McGeeney, this final mirrored the Ladies with Durrant taking a 4-0 set lead but Mark hit back in set five before a short break where Glen hit back only for Mark to hang in there with last gasp finishing in next two sets. The Final set saw a finish of 146 followed by a 100 to crown him Champion again.
