Warwickshire kicked off their 2026-27 UKDA Premier division season with a loss to the powerful Yorkshire. They were bouncing from a heavy victory in their first fixture and were looking to mirror that score.
The Ladies B who were crowned champions last season got off to a good start with a solid 3 3 draw. Wins coming from Hannah Meek, Jodie Rigg and a LOM from Lucy Shepherd 23.74.
Mens B were up against it with a strong Yorkshire side, an 8-4 loss with wins coming from Matty Washbrooke, Jack Wareing, Karl Reynolds and a super MOM from Jamie Hughes 33.75.
Ladies A also held for a 3 3 draw with some great shows once again, Kirsty Hinchliffe, Marian Conway and a great 23.48 from Wendy Adams.
Mens A was billed as a match of high calibre, a superb 7-5 victory courtesy of wins from Danny Lauby, Wayne Mynard, Dom Taylor, Matty Washbrooke, Nigel Heydon, Steve Hine and again a MOM from Jamie Hughes 30.83.
Overall a 17-19 loss but lots to look into and all looks good for the season ahead.
Next up is a local derby versus the West Midlands.
