Warwickshire returned as victors in their latest battle in the BICC over rivals Cambridgeshire. This was also the first ever County Fixture to be televised, this was new to both Counties and very well organised. Saturday saw the Ladies B battle for a well earned draw with wins coming from Kerry Bambridge, Lisa Whitmore and a Lady of the Match 19.51 from Donna Pinch. Mens B also had to settle for a draw with Ted Evetts taking a great match award 26.64. Other wins came from Carl Green, Dave Atkins, Antony Allen, Luke Kennedy and Simon Power. Some games there were also close to going in our favour but elusive doubles cost us dearly. Sunday saw another battling draw with wins from Denise Keyte, Wendy Adams defeating England International Claire Ball and a Lady of the Match once again from Trina Gulliver 23.48. Taking six points from the 12 available in the Ladies over the weekend was testament to the spirit within the squad as Cambridgeshire have one of the strongest line ups in the BICC. The Mens A raced into a majestical 8-0 lead with some brilliant darts, wins coming from Dickie Foster, Will Naylor, Mark Westgarth, Bobby Nixon on his return to the squad, Noel Grant who fired in 4 maximum 180 scores, Rob Hawker, Mark Strong and a Man of the Match from Jamie Hughes with a 29.47. Only other victory came from Jamie Atkins with the three losing players also getting close. We now have a 6 week break before embarking and two consecutive away fixtures in Glamorgan and Essex.
