Warwickshire came up trumps when taking three of the four sections from the weekend match with high fliers Lancashire. Ladies B hit the ground running with a great 4-2 win with Team Manager leading the way with a 20.04 LOM. Wins followed from Helen Rigg, Chloe McKivett and Nina Bolt. Mens B also produced a solid display with a 7-5 win, Prakash Jiwa taking the match award with a 27.83. Other winners were James Hykin, Carl Green, Simon Power, Tommy Ryan, Ian Shaw and Ant West. Sunday saw us going in with an 11-7 lead which soon dwindled to 12-12 after the Ladies A had lost out 5-1 with Trina Gulliver 22.60 LOM. Mens A got off to a bad start with the first two games going in favour of Lancs but order was restored Antony Allen winning 4-1 and despite an unusual loss for Jamie Hughes we were still looking strong, Tommy Aldridge hit home with a brilliant 30.47 MOM followed by a further four wins from Ted Evetts, Rob Hawker on his A return, Dickie Foster and Bobby Nixon, Simon Power was unlucky to lose out 4-3 but Mark Westgarth hit the winning match double to see us on 19 points, finally Noel Grant also losing out to a straight legs defeat. So a 19-17 win which sees the Bears move back to Fourth in the Premier, and as I pointed out there isnt and wont be many Counties that go and win 3 from four on their patch. The last time this was achieved was in 2002 in Morecambe. A brilliant effort from all concerned this weekend. We now move on to the next match which is home versus Cambridgeshire.
