Warwickshire were just pipped at the last after a thrilling weekend of darts at Chelmsford Social Club the home of Essex Darts. It started with a gritty 3-3 draw for the Ladies B which could have been better with a few missed opportunities. Also a draw for the B lads was very creditable as Essex B are one of the strongest in the country. Louise Graham and Jimmy Hill landed the Saturday match awards. The sunday went off great with Sue Gulliver winning her third consecutive match but that was it as Essex took the next five games which was a major dissapointment. The Mens A were also facing a powerful unit in Essex but both Counties were missing players from the PDC weekend in Wigan. A super result was then achieved by the Bears taking a 7-5 win. Some extremely sharp finishing was the order of the day especially Mark Westgarth who finalised his game with a 135 out after Ian McFarlane had won the 1st game which turned out to be the Match Award. Fourth place is set firm now as we embark on our last fixture at home to Kent on 11-12th May.
