Thursday saw the first night of qualifiers take place for the English National Singles. Two Venues made up the field with Riley’s in Castle Vale holding their one with only 8 players in attendance and Rob Hawker winning through the field after defeating Mark Birch. The Bishopsgate Club in Coventry fared a little better with 24 entries. This venue seeing Mark Westgarth of Coventry Railway and the Bishopsgate’s own Jimmy Hill and Mark Carter win through. They are joined by Paul Austin of Southam who qualified via an in house event at Southam earlier in the season. Final details are yet to be announced but will be posted as soon as is known. There will also be another chance to qualify in February 2014.
