Warwickshire suffered a one game defeat when being hosted by Lincolnshire. Both teams went into the fixture sat in the middle of the division both unable to move unless inflicting a heavy defeat over one another.
With the Ladies B sitting pretty at the top of the Section they started badly losing the first three games but a super reaction from the last three, Angela Jones, Melanie Jones and a 20.04 LOM from Marian Conway all gaining wins they pushed that lead to five at the top but a Lancashire 6-0 win over London saw them take the title. Two years on the bounce the ladies have suffered last game disappointment.
Mens B also suffered with a powerful line up for Lincs giving them an 8-4 win, bears winners were Karl Reynolds, Sam Price, Mark Martin and a MOM from Dave Hill. 25.21.
11-7 down overnight.
Ladies A had a call up for Hannah Meek and she did not disappoint with a hard fought 3-2 win and LOM with 22.01. Ladies took a superb 4-2 win with other winners being Wendy Adams, Tammy Montgomery, and Courtney Hine.
Mens A saw two great teams line up and the game did not disappoint with a final 6-6 draw with winners being Steve Hine, Noel Grant, Jack Wareing, Wayne Mynard, Gareth Braham and again a 30.35 for Jamie Atkins.
Jamie Atkins completes the season topping the Mens A averages making it two seasons on the bounce that a Warwickshire player takes the award after Noel Grant winning it last season. Our congratulations to Jamie amazing feat.
Steve Hine and daughter Courtney Hine created history with the first father/ daughter to take part together on the same day. Congratulations to both, great performances.
Unfortunately the good news was also shadowed by the fact that we are to lose four distinguished players from our Ladies squad and Officials listing. Angela Jones and Melanie Jones, Sue Gulliver and Tammy Montgomery are all to leave the County after many years of great effort. Angela leaves her post as General Secretary and Melanie leaves the Ladies managers position. All within the County know that this is a huge loss to Warwickshire and attempting to find replacements will be one difficult task. We would like to thank all the girls for their years and efforts as players and officials.
