The County were well represented over the weekend at the Annual UKDA National Finals Weekend at Bolton Wanderers FC.
The Friday started with the Pairs both Ladies and Men with the Ladies of Courtney Hine and Danielle Haynes winning a game before losing out in the last 32.
The Mens Pairing of Noel Grant and Sam Price were defeated in the last sixteen however the other qualifying pair Dave Pallett and Taylor McGuckian won through to the Final where they lost out in the final leg to the pairing of Cam Crabtree and Martin Lukeman of Middlesex.
The Singles saw Jodie Rigg lose in last 256, Donna Pinch in last 128, Courtney Hine last 64, Wendy Adams a last 32 spot whilst Natalie Gilbert lost out in the last 16.
In the Mens Singles Matty Washbrooke last 256, Dave Pallett, last 64, Noel Grant and Jamie Hughes both last 32 whilst Nigel Heydon lost in the Quarter Finals.
The Team Nationals saw the Coventry Ladies lose out 3-2 in the last 16 after a good run within the group stages. The Team of Donna Pinch, Marian Conway, Caroline Pike, Maya Day, Natalie Gilbert and Kristeen Meek.
The Mens team of Coventry Parkstone won through their group stages unbeaten as a team and then went through round by round beating a team from last 16 Gwynnedd Foelas Arms Pentrefoelas , last 8 Allens Bar Black Country, Last 4 Muff Boyz of Devon and then winning the final magnificently beating the Whitwick team of Leicestershire.
This is the 2nd time a Mens Team has won the National Final after Leamington won it back in the 2000s.
